Currently I’m in 8th grade, and my grade point average for the 1st nine weeks was 3.0. I enjoy playing around the house with my dog, and then going outside to take care of my horse. I would rather be taking care of animals instead of looking at a screen all day. I would like to go to EHOVE to learn more about being a veterinarian. My interest have led me to my number one career choice. When I grow up, I want to be a Veterinarian.
I will become a Veterinarian by learning some of the skills and terms in EHOVE, then by going to college to learn more about becoming a Veterinarian. According to the Ohio Means Jobs website “You need to have good grades, pay attention in class, work hard on everything you get, and make sure that you study for all tests and quizzes to pass your class.” In order for me to accomplish these goals I will be working hard at EHOVE by paying attention to learn more about the skills and terms that I’ll need to know. I will have at least a 3.0 GPA or possibly higher. Also I will be studying harder for tests and quizzes so that I can pass, and become a vet faster. I will try my best to get all A’s and B’s like I do now, so that I will pass all my classes. In order to become a vet I need to posses the skills of, having a passion for all animals, academic competencies, good business skills, and interpersonal skills. “According to Martin Argles the guardian by Newsela staff, “Vets know and understand pets in a way that most owners do not. Turns out many veterinarians are sickened by the very patients they are striving to heal. Yet, they go to work anyway, dedicated to their jobs and patients.” In order for me to become a vet, I will need to be able to understand all animals because I intend on working with all sizes of animals whether they’re big or small. I will make sure that I don’t let an animal leave before it has been diagnosed. Also I will make sure that all my work will be dedicated to the animals and to my job. I will never leave a patient behind, they may be big or small, but I will treat them all. Being a veterinarian could take me to many different places in life. According to Veterinarians: Occupational Outlook Handbook “Veterinary medical colleges typically require applicants to have taken many science classes, including biology, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, zoology, microbiology, and animal science. Few states accept licenses from other states, so veterinarians who want to be licensed in another state usually must take that state’s exam.” If I do want to become a vet in a different state, yes I will most likely have to take that states test. When I do become a vet I want to most likely stay in Ohio, so that I am closer to my family. If I get the opportunity to move up in a different veterinarian position I will definitely move up. I have been thinking that yes one day I will retire from being a vet, but I just don’t know when yet. I don’t know if I’ll retire from age or number of years worked I haven’t decided yet. Out of all the jobs I could do in the future, I chose to be a veterinarian because I like taking care of all sorts of animals. Also I have watched many veterinarian television shows that have interested me to become a vet. The t.v. shows that I have watched made being a vet look like it can be fun, but not look very fun at the same time. You get to take care of all sorts of animals, from little house pets to big farm animals. I also want to become a vet because they have inspired me. Every time my dad takes an animal to the vet they never let us down they always find the problem then tell us how to solve it. I want to be that person that whenever someone brings an animal into the clinic I can diagnose it. Then I can tell them how to prevent this problem from happening again. Also I could give them medicine to give their animal so this doesn’t happen anymore. I also want to be that vet that any person can bring me their pet and they can count on me to make their animal healthy again.
